Nature paints in colours only the heart can comprehend.

Beautiful job with the light and shade on the branches. I especially like the lower right corner, with the frail autumn colours on the soft eggshell background...
I never did very well painting trees from this angle... perhaps I should give it another try.

Found this through critique central: I wanted to agree with aquatic ape that the lower right hand portion of this painting is very different in style from the rest of it. It's almost like it's a half-breed of two styles. I think it might be better if you were to stick with a single style and since both are appealing it really looks like you have the skill to make to seperate but equally appealing paintings.
I also wanted to say that the places where you chose to make the branches red seem weird. You already have so much color in the picture that I find it kind of unnecessary to have red branches that just make me thing, "but branches aren't red?" It seems to me that it detracts from my enjoyment of the rest of the image.
And my compliments on the shape of the tree and the formation of the branches. This painting seems much more believable that the winter tree one since that one seems to feature branches that go in many awkward directions.
Just my thoughts, thanks for sharing
